Necessary Evil

I have decided that computers are a necessary evil. When we were out visiting for Relief Society last night we were discussing how much i use technology to keep in contact with the sisters and keep all my ducks in a row so to speak.

It seems, especially at work, that i just figure out what i am supposed to be doing and they (the undefined they) decide that things need to be bigger better and faster. Oh yes and more secure. So what this means in every day language an upgrade.

When upgrades occur your compatible programs are no longer compatible. Your documents in memory have now gotten Alzheimer's and the keys strokes no longer stroke like they used to.

So work needs to be repeated and more paper needs to be printed (oh yea we are going paperless which scares me to death!)

I gave my mom a poster years ago that said
"Just when i finally figure out where it's at
somebody moves it"


I say if it is not broke don't fix it.
