Don't wish your life away

When I was a little girl and into my teens, I would say things like "I can't wait until I am 16" or "I wish this day were over" or "only 3 months until summer vacation". My Grandmother would just say "don't wish your life away".

My Grandmother was always right. I miss her so much.

The other day I was cleaning my room and flipped through my kids photo albums. There were my babies. Oh I miss them so much. It almost seems like they were never that little. But when they were babies I couldn't wait until they could hold their own bottle, or sit up, or walk or start school. I could always hear Grandma saying "dont wish your life away".
Now I miss them so much.

I found myself saying just this morning, "is it Friday yet?"

In the last 2 months I have lost 2 friends to cancer. One was just about an hour ago. They were great women and about my age. They don't even get this Friday.

So I would encourage you

Don't wish your life away. Enjoy your joys and trials every minute.

I couldn't agree more and yet I do it all the time. I have seen your beautiful basement once when I came over. What part did you want to show me?

If I could bottle and keep time, I would.

So true. However I do keep wishing we were wealthy. ;)
