This ones for you beth

My daughter wants me to post more about my life with Del before kids. So to my many fans and blog readers (all 3 of you) you get to read occasionally about my "other" life.

One of the first times Del and I went on a date, we went to the Sandy river in Oregon to a small park called Dabney. We packed a picnic lunch and headed out of town. When we got there, we got out of the car and Del shut and locked the door. . . . with the keys still in the ignition.

I couldn't believe it. I said well I have hitch hiked before lets go back to Portland and get your spare key.

Del said that we should stay and enjoy our lunch and afternoon then we would take care of it. So we did. I don't remember what we ate but i do remember playing on the rocks in the river and enjoying each other and the beautiful day.

We decided it was time to head home. I told him lets go out to the highway and start hitch hiking. He suggested that he get the spare key he had wired under the car.

He knew the key was there all the time. I stewed all day about not having a key. I should have know then that i was getting involved with a big teaser.

A few days later we went to the Columbia River and played in the sand throwing each other around. We got back to the car and he told me the keys must have fallen out of his pocket and he hadn't put the spare back yet.

Oh yea he says they're in my pocket!

Oh brother. Ever since I carry a spare key to my car in my purse.

By the way that right before our first kiss.

Stay tuned for more stories

I wouldn't put it past Del to sill being saying things like that to you! I wonder if when he locked them in at the park it was on purpose, just to see your reaction.

Funny!
