Superstitions

I have been thinking about superstitions. (can you see why i call my blog amy's pointless ponderings!)

I am a woman of faith. I say i don't believe in superstitions.
But doesn't everyone believe in them just a little bit?

For example yesterday my car started acting up.

This morning as i was getting ready for work I dropped my little mirror, broke it into a million pieces. My first thought was "drat (or something like that) now my car is going to cost a fortune to fix!"

How about the saying "step on a crack you break your mothers back".
My mom broke her back twice in her life and i have back problems also. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Then when a black cat runs in front of you don't you for just a split second think "OH NO!"

It just make great sense to not walk under a ladder you would just be taking you life in your hands.

If I haven't gotten you on any of those, how about this.
When you open your fortune cookie and is says
"great wealth will come your way"
don't you tape it to your bathroom mirror?

Or when you look at the horoscope and it only has 2 stars
"DON'T READ IT"

But like i said, i am a woman of faith, not a woman of superstition.
But if it cost a fortune to get my car fixed

i am buying a plastic mirror!
