Well Christmas has come and gone. Our daughter and her family arrived a day early for a surprise. We were very glad for that. We celebrated on Christmas eve with all of our family except my son and his wife. They were greatly missed. We had a wonderful dinner and opened presents and played Dads version of lets make a deal.
It was the first time since 1977 that Del and I didn't have any kids here on Christmas morning. We slept in until 10, had a wonderful traditional breakfast. Blueberry muffins with sauce, eggs, hash brown and bacon. We went to the movies to see Sherlock Holmes. (Wonderful movie). Came home and laid around the rest of the day.
We didn't have all of of kids climb into bed with us on Christmas morning. Things are changing. It is hard. Many changes in the last few years have been really hard. I really don't foresee things getting easier either. I guess my learning curve has just changed also. I had better start figuring things out.
But it is what it is.

hope that you had a fun christmas regardless of not having any kids around. but you still have Del, and that is very important! plus, he's kinda like a kid anyways, right?!?!

Sounds really relaxing to me! I really want to see Sherlock Holmes, too. Fun to finally have time with the hubby when you can actually hear what the other is saying without chaos all around!
Merry Christmas!
YOU open all your presents on Christmas Eve???? WOW! Well, I am glad that you were able to spend the day together, that really is a blessing.
I'm glad your kids were able to come visit! I'm totally jealous of your breakfast, not to mention you actually were able to sleep in! My kids were up at 5:30! I don't think I have quite recovered yet either!
I really want to see Sherlock Holmes as well.
